The Client
Mr. Taylor Byron Barr, an LA-based actor, model, and producer, required the creation of a fun press release for use in the promotion of his film project, NoHo: The North Hollywood Story.
The Goal
As part of the promotion strategy for the second season of the NoHo movie, Mr. Taylor B. Barr required the creation of a press release that would appeal to the movie’s target audience.
My Workflow
- Discovery meeting: During our discovery meeting, I asked questions that helped me to understand the movie and the result(s) that the press release was intended to achieve.
- Research: I performed deep research about the first season of the movie and how that story ties to the second season.
- Brainstorm: I studied different press releases for Holywood movies so that I could understand the local nuances and language that would enable me to achieve the goal/vision of the press release.
- Themeing: Identified major themes from the movie and the zeitgeist of the moment in relation to such themes that could be used to add personality to the press release.
- First draft: Created a first draft and sent it to him for review and feedback.
- Review and approval: Updated the press release with the client’s feedback, proofread the final draft and sent it to the client for final approval.
