My 2018 Goals

“Goals. There’s no telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There’s no telling what you can do when you believe in them. And there’s no telling what will happen when you act upon them.” – Jim Rohn.

Yes, I am putting up a post on my 2018 goals 4 weeks into the new year. For some, this might be quite late as I ‘ought to have set these goals and begun working on them by this time’. For some, this might be too early as I ‘ought to take the time to figure out how the year would be and set achievable goals accordingly’.

But you know what I think? Eff all of that. I used to really care about doing everything according to how it ‘ought to be done’, but last year taught me that as long as I am doing the right thing, I should do it the best way possible for me. And this includes doing things at my own time and pace.

Now, the appropriate title for this post should be ‘My 2018 Goals And Related Fears’ because I am beyond scared about some of the goals I have set for myself this year. And I mean ‘scared’ in every way possible! If you follow me on InstagramFacebook, or Twitter, (thank you for following! *kiss kiss*) you will have already heard/read me say this.

Thanks to some things that made me not meet up with my financial and business goals (a story for another day), I had an ‘almost’ fulfilling 2017 goals-wise. But I plan on having an amazing, goals-crushing 2018. Hence, the reason why I set all of these goals for myself.

I am sharing them here with the hope that you can help me stay accountable for every one of them. So, without further ado, I bring to you my goals for 2018.

SPIRITUAL

  • Develop a more intimate relationship with God (along with building relationships that will help me in this area)

FAMILY

  • Be more intentional with the influence I have in the lives of my immediate family members, pointing them to Christ at every opportunity.

FINANCIAL

  • This is a tricky one to make public so, without putting figures, I plan on doing better with my finances through savings and investments (vague as that sounds, there are detailed plans with figures to back this goal).

BUSINESS

  • Took some attention away from my business last year after Daddy passed. Will dig in and focus on growing it this year through producing amazing pieces for my clients, marketing, and promoting. I have so much to learn still, as running a business is not that easy!

PERSONAL

  • Learn to be more trusting of people (was bitten, held onto it for the longest, and now I am ready to trust people again).
  • Have more fun with people around me (hang out with loved ones more)
  • Schedule all my work so nothing ‘serious’ falls on the weekends.
  • No phone calls past 10 p.m.
  • Journal every day.
  • Read at least one book every month (4 hours every day)
  • Travel somewhere new twice a month (start with new places in Lagos).
  • Spend more ‘me’ times.
  • Start volunteering again (I miss volunteering!)

FASHION AND STYLE

  • Create a capsule wardrobe.
  • Invest in a stylish wardrobe (Buy only relevant fashion pieces)
  • Have more fun with my styling

BLOG

  • Consistently post on my blog.
  • Intentionally establish friendships with people in the blogger community.
  • Increase my blog’s visibility (post blog-related posts on Facebook and Instagram at least 3 times a week, hold live sessions on Facebook and Instagram at least twice a month, and collaborate with other bloggers).

STILL ON MY BLOG – MONTHLY GOALS

  • January – Create a blogging plan and editorial calendar.
  • February – Create helpful content and make friends with more awesome bloggers.
  • March –  Take courses to up my photography and videography.
  • April – Put me out there more with solid pitches that create value for brands and for myself.
  • May – Reach 1000 page views a month and find ways to monetize my blog.
  • June – Must have attended at least 2 blogging conferences.
  • July – Guest post on 3 other websites.
  • August – Grow my email list to 500 – 1,000 subscribers.
  • September – Build a separate emergency fund for my blog.
  • October – Buy a new MacBook, Camera, and other relevant blogging devices.
  • November – Grow my Instagram following to 5,000.
  • December – Establish me as a seriously relevant blogger!

So, there you have it! It all seems like a lot because I broke them down, but that’s to make them more achievable. Off to paste them on my wardrobe door as a daily reminder to intentionally crush them all. Meanwhile, what are your goals for this year? Let me know in the comments section.

Have an amazing week!

XOXO
