The Client
The Guardian is an independent daily newspaper published in Lagos, Nigeria, by Guardian Newspapers Limited.
The Goal
Create compelling content for the digital platforms (Web and Twitter) of the Magazine in the form of creating original articles and reporting on happenings within Lagos.
My Workflow
- Ascertaining the purpose of the particular content to determine all areas and people that could benefit from it.
- Brainstorming every angle of the content that would enable me to achieve the goal/vision of the content using checklists,
- Identifying overlaps in that content which can be used for content marketing purposes.
- Creating a content creation map which will enable me to write and review the content, then
- Proofreading the content in line with the magazine’s content theme for that month.
Tools Used
- Rev.com – Interview transcription.
- Google Docs – Writing.
- Microsoft Excel – Creation of a content bank.
- Buffer – Scheduling social media posts.
- Canva – Designing digital graphics on the go.
- Grammarly.com – Proofreading content to eliminate undetected grammar errors.
Result
A successful work relationship.
