Dreams & Turning Point

I am a dreamer and girl have I dreamt! This far into the journey of my life, I can say that I am a testament that passion and effort make a dream work. I am a multi-passionate who struggled with focusing my attention and time into growing a limited number of interests but I’m glad to say that it’s been an amazing journey exploring my different passions and interests. If you had told me 8 years ago that my love for beauty, fashion and technology would have provided me with the opportunity to explore creative projects which contribute to making the world better and inspire people, I wouldn’t have believed you. I, like many people, have spent so many years locking my truest passions up in the prison of fear in my mind. As soon as I made the choice to not let my fears get the best of me, I decided to leap, soar and create this space to document my journey. My hope is that RachealAbiriba.Com becomes a platform to remind us all to dream BIG, STOP hiding our gifts, and to GIVE ourselves permission to let our talent shine because the world needs it.

I remember quitting my job as a Lawyer after a great day at Court which surprisingly didn’t leave me feeling fulfilled only to start my first blog and pursue a career as a freelance journalistic writer. I had been exhausted beyond my breaking point, working hard to balance both my legal career and my creative passions that it was really starting to wear me down. My intuition and gut feeling were enough for me to bet on myself and the rest, as they say, is history!

Pursuing My Passions

Although style, beauty and technology all play an important role in my life, my life’s journey has been much more about the joys I’ve experienced when I decided to unleash my purpose and move towards my passion. Iā€™ve learnt that my ‘why’ is being a resource to others, to you. From offering easy lifestyle tips to providing creative inspiration and results, inspiring people is why I do what I do.

Looking Forward

I consider myself to be a change agent and if I’m able to help you change or inspire even the smallest piece in your life, I’ve executed my purpose. I look forward to continuing to perfect my passions, grow and inspire the success of others. I have some BIG things that I plan to unleash in the next couple of years, and I hope you continue to join me on this ride. I am so grateful that I am truly able to inspire you to live your life passionately, with all the love and joy that your heart can contain.

Rae.

MY PROFESSIONAL BIO:

THE TL:DR VERSION

Racheal Nene Abiriba-Nwaka

Racheal is a multi-passionate Lawyer, Communications & Content Consultant, and notable Creative Writer in the Nigerian media industry. You may know her from her work at Guardian Nigeria, Genevieve Magazine, ADSTRAT BMC, Polo Limited and Rise and Lead Women, to mention a few. She has built an impressive ‘experience bank’ through years of working in organizations and industries in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors; from media & publishing and advertising to luxury retail and hospitality organizations.

A self-proclaimed master freelancer, Racheal’s work centers on exploring her intellectual curiosity to find innovative solutions to the communication problems of modern brands and creatives using conversations and storytelling. When she’s not keeping busy writing, Racheal loves dedicating her time to advocate for the empowerment of women and children, exploring the menus at new restaurants with her husband, learning new skills to improve her knowledge of web design & development, or enjoying a cup of ice cream while seeing a movie.

Racheal currently resides in Nigeria with her husband.
